The Best Themed Land at a Disney Park

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.

This week in Disney News, Disney definitely heard Angela complain about there not being enough new food offerings for the 50th so overnight, they created 150 new food items to serve.

Disney also announced MagicBand+, a new magicband for the 50th that has interactive features and lights up!

For those of us who couldn't be at the 50th celebration, Disney also streamed Harmonious and Disney Enchantment!

And finally, we got our first peaks at the Galactic Starcruiser as well as an opening date! Let's say we're both cautiously optimistic.

This week, we power rank the different lands of Disney. In this list, we've included the newer lands developed for Disneyland and Disney World: Pandora, Galaxy's Edge, Toy Story Land, Cars Land, Avengers Campus, and Pixar Pier.

We approach ranking them by examining the attractions, food, atmosphere, architecture, and our overall favorite. We definitely were surprised with our results!

Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Preview

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.

This week in Disney News, we have an update on lines at Rise of the Resistance since it officially switched from having a virtual boarding group to a standby line last week.

We're very much looking forward to Disney+ Day on November 12, where we're getting new shows, seasons of shows we love, movies are being released, and we're getting a sneak peak into the future of Star Wars and Marvel!

Finally, if you're unable to make it to the 50th anniversary celebration (or you just can't wait), Disney will be live streaming Harmonious and Disney Enchantment at the end of this month!

This week, we talk about how Disney's celebrating the 50th anniversary in Disney World! There's a lot of new restaurants, decorations, rides, cavalcades, and the return of some parties that'll help kick off the 50th in style. (And seriously, in style...did you see the characters' new iridescent costumes?!) 

But, it wouldn't be a celebration of 50 years if we didn't do a little dive into where Disney World started! No way! So, we also discuss the park's origins, how much it would've cost you to get in when it opened, and what is original to the park.

Terrible Reviews for Our Favorite Movies

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney!

This week in Disney News, Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios is "temporarily pausing" the virtual boarding groups. It's an interesting choice with the 50th about to commence, so we discuss why they may have chosen now to do this.

The Finding Nemo stage show at Animal Kingdom won't be returning in its current form. 

AND OH MY GOSH, DUFFY GOT A NEW FRIEND!!!! LinaBella is a curious fox and she's ADORABLE!

This week, we bring to you a delightful game of "Guess the movie based on the bad IMDB review." Seriously, we haven't had this much fun recording an episode in a while because honestly...the things people say about some of our favorite movies are so absurd, we can't even be that mad. Play along with Angela and try to guess which of your favorite movies someone eviscerated for no particular reason other than they were bored.

ReImagineering Hollywood Studios

Welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we talk about anything and everything Disney! This week we be re-Imagineering the Hollywood studios, but first, Disney News!

The new Creation Shop and Club Cool will be opening in EPCOT this week on September 15!

Expedition Everest will be closed for extended refurbishment for 3 months starting in January.

And finally, we got some additional casting for Haunted Mansion: Owen Wilson and Rosario Dawson. 

We are so excited to share with you how we’d re-Imagineer the Hollywood Studios. Fresh slate, money’s no object. Hollywood Studios is a nice park that is no longer cohesive, so we completely revamp it putting the idea of history and Hollywood at its heart.

We even go as far as to change the layout of the park. Some of our ideas include fixing Galaxy’s Edge and changing Toy Story Land to be more of a Pixar Land. Then we add a Marvel Land, Fox Land, and an old Hollywood area. We also have ideas for new eateries and experiences that would make this more of a full-day park!

And seriously Disney, if you’d like to hire us full time or as consultants, we’d be more than willing to give you ideas (or you can just listen to this podcast where we give them to you for free).

Jungle Cruise vs. Pirates of the Caribbean (Film Version)

Welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.

This week in Disney News, the 50th anniversary magic bands are/were back in stock. You best believe we snatched a pair while we could.

The signs for the lightning lanes have started going up in Disney World.

And the annual passes for Disney World were announced. We go over the different types.

This week we compare and contrast The Jungle Cruise to Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.

On the surface level, these movies have a LOT in common: they’re both based on rides in the Disney parks, there’s an element of immortality gained by stealing from native people, and you have at least one major movie star attached to the movie. But that’s pretty much where the comparisons stop.

We explain why we think Pirates works better as the first movie of a franchise, and where we think The Jungle Cruise falls short.

Disneyland vs. Disney World Attraction Showdown

Welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. This week we have a battle royale between Disneyland and Disney World, but first, we have some news.

This week in Disney News, it was Princess Week, and we FINALLY got our first peek into the Splash Mountain redo featuring Tiana! The artwork that will be inspiring the ride shows Tiana and an ultimate Mardi Gras celebration. It’s certainly a party we want to be invited to!

The NBA experience closed for good at Disney Springs.

Disney will be developing a retirement community at Lake Nona. Joe and I already bought a piggy bank to start saving up.

And the Spiderman: No Way Home trailer dropped. It seems to have a very different feel than the other Spiderman movies, and the trailer raises more questions than it answers.

This week, we take the most popular rides featured in the Magic Kingdom over in Disney World and pit them against their counterparts in Disneyland. The rides are Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Small World, and Pirates of the Caribbean. We discuss some of the differences between the rides in both parks (there are so many subtle differences). Then we pick our favorites, which is a lot harder than you may think.

Disney Genie+ and the Death of FastPass

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, your place for anything and everything Disney. This week, we scrapped our main topic in favor of Disney News because (plays "Taps" in the background) Fastpass is dead. Disney's "new" app and system to replace it is confusing and complicated, so we explain it during the episode.

 

Disney Genie is an app for helping you plan out your day. It'll give you estimated wait times, provide a place to mobile order, help you get in line in virtual queues, and assist you in planning out your day. It basically has the same functionality as the My Disney Experience App.

 

So not that complicated right? Wrong.

 

You can also purchase Genie+ to help you jump the lines on many rides or further, purchase access to Lightning Lanes to get on the top tier attractions. So how do you do it? What's included? Do you need Genie+ to get Lightning Lanes?

 

We answer it all in this podcast, while also talking about what we think the impact of these decisions will be. Should people really be mad? What do we think, if done correctly, the impact on the lines will be? And what's the biggest issue with all the changes that people are missing?

We got our first look inside the new Space 220 Restaurant and wow does it look cool (and like it belongs inside Galaxy's Edge). 

 

Speaking of previews, we got a peek of the music for EPCOT's new show, Harmonious. We joke about how we'll probably love it despite the amount of trash talk we've dished about the alien vessels in the middle of the lake.

 

And oh my...the pricing for the Christmas after-hours event at Disney World, uninspiringly named Disney Very Merriest After-Hours Event, has been released. You may be merry until you see the cost that is!

 

This week we do another rendition of "You can only keep one." This Disneyland Edition has us choosing between the most popular mountains, biggest attractions in DCA, best desserts, original rides, shows, and more! Disney+ Marvel Series

Hello and bienvenidos to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. 

This week in Disney News, there's been SO MUCH pricing news it's been bonkers! We learned about the new annual pass system at Disneyland called Magic Key, the suggested pricing for the Galactic Starcruiser (aka the Star Wars hotel), and how much the Magical Express replacement service through Mears is going to cost. Talking about all of this makes my wallet feel famished.

 

This week is a major SPOILER ALERT for anyone not up-to-speed on all of the Marvel shows on Disney+, as we talk about WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki and definitely reveal some of the big secrets. We don't give you a play-by-play of everything, but instead favor talking about what about the shows worked and didn't work, the impact all of this will have on the MCU, how the MCU is going to continue when the lore behind it seems to be growing faster than the number of actors on the MCU's payroll, and probably a lot of things I'm forgetting right now.

Disneyland 2021 Trip Recap

Welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney! This week we talk about our trip to Disneyland! But before we dive in, let’s talk Disney News!

Masks are back indoors at the Disney locations after new cases of COVID are surging.  

The other big news this week is that Scarlett Johansson is suing Disney over an alleged breach of contract.

We were lucky enough to get to travel to Disneyland a week or so ago, so this week we talk all about that trip! We talk about what we ate, what we rode, where we stayed, and who we saw. (Hint…we were in Disneyland at the same time The Jungle Cruise was premiering!!!! Someone big and bulky may have just been a stone’s throw away.)
