Duel of the Fates: What Episode IX Could Have Been
Monday Jan 27, 2020
Monday Jan 27, 2020
Hello and welcome to your (favorite) Disney podcast! We’re super excited for you to hear our topic this week, but first, the news!
FastPasses for Smuggler’s Run are finally here, and with that comes an overhaul of Hollywood Studios FastPass system. Don’t worry, we think you’ll like the changes. 😉
And, what’s this?! The Declaration of Independence? No! Benjamin Franklin Gates already stole that and unlocked its secrets, BUT he may be up to his shenanigans again in a rumored new National Treasure movie.
Drumroll please.... This week we’ll be discussing Colin Trevorrow’s leaked script and the concept art that goes along with his dead Star Wars film that was eventually replaced by The Rise of Skywalker called Duel of the Fates. (Ballin’ title...we know.)
In the leaked information, we learn many of the plot points of this movie that shines in the pits of the never-to-be-made movie graveyard. These points include Rey’s new double-sided staff, maintaining that Rey is a nobody, Kylo Ren as the ultimate big bad, and Kylo’s lightsaber battle with Darth Vader. Ummmm...what made Lucasfilm say no to this?!
We discuss the impact of this now defunct story on the Skywalker saga as a whole and how it would’ve fit into the already established movies (spoiler alert...it would’ve fit MUCH better).
Thank you again for listening this week and don’t forget to check out the Banter? I Hardly Know Her Podcast. They’re the real deal! Have a great week!

Bold Predictions for the Next Decade
Monday Jan 06, 2020
Monday Jan 06, 2020
This week in Disney News, Jon Favreau announces The Mandalorian will get a season 2, and it will come out Fall 2020. Yay!!! Plus, we discuss the rumor that Disney World is planning to move to a paid FastPass system this year and why we think this is a bad idea.
For our main topic, we took a Udemy (not a sponsor) class from Madame Leota, purchased a crystal ball, and make predictions for the next decade. What will Disney do from 2020-2030? Well...we’re going to tell you.
We see some major changes for the stateliness parks as they continue to expand. The WDW parks will get larger and larger with new lands. But do we see a fifth park in their future?
Plus, we see Disney building new park(s) in some interesting international markets.
The company itself will grow too with some major acquisitions.
The future of their entertainment is bright, with Moana being at the heart (of the ocean) of it all. Angela has the full plot synopsis for Moana 2 and Joe foresees a Moana musical with new exclusive music from Lin-Manuel Miranda. Angela also has some bold predictions for the Jungle Cruise movie you won’t want to miss.
Don’t worry...we didn’t forget to mention our beloved Baby Yoda who will speak his first, adorable words. Listen to find out what they are.

Food and Wine & Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Recaps
Monday Nov 25, 2019
Monday Nov 25, 2019
This week in Disney News, Frozen 2 opened and if you haven’t seen it, what are you doing? Seriously, stop reading this and go to the nearest movie theater. This is an emergency situation!!
And Disney Plus is officially out and officially cool! Watch the Mandalorian. Even if the Mandalorian himself isn’t super lovable, he has a lovable costar...that’s all I’m going to say.
This week, we talk about our most recent trip to Disney, where we were able to hit both Food and Wine AND Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Since Food and Wine is over now, we spend only a short amount of time discussing what we ate and would recommend getting next year (and what we wouldn’t).
Mickey’s Very Merry was jolly in almost every way. There’s free cookies, Christmasified rides, special shows, and festive character meet-and-greets. We talk about what we did and give you tips and tricks.

The Inside Scoop from The Ride of a Lifetime
Monday Nov 18, 2019
Monday Nov 18, 2019
This week in Disney News, Disney shares its financial report and we learn that although park attendance is down, overall guest spending is up. Also, Disney World takes a page out of Tokyo Disneyland’s book and is now offering a special edition popcorn tin for Christmas.
This week we discuss the highlights from Bob Iger’s book, The Ride of a Lifetime. Starting at ABC, Iger was an unlikely candidate for CEO after Mike Eisner. We discuss Iger’s important contributions to the Disney company and speculate what was the most important acquisition that happened during his reign.
Plus, stay until the very end for some outtakes from our intro.

Little Mermaid Live
Monday Nov 11, 2019
Monday Nov 11, 2019
Hello, and welcome to your hub for anything and everything Disney. This week in Disney News, the new trailer for Pixar’s Soul dropped. It looks like a really interesting exploration of an existential crisis...packaged as a children’s movie. We’re interested to see how they attack such a difficult and depressing topic as death in a way that still leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy like Pixar movies often do.
This week we discuss The Little Mermaid Live that just aired on Tuesday, November 5. It was an interesting mix of the animated movie with live performances of the songs.
The performances were by famous actors like Auli’i Cravalho (as Ariel) Queen Latifa (as Ursula), Shaggy (as Sebastian), and John Stamos (as Chef Louis) and definitely made watching interesting. While some took to their parts like a fish to water, others seemed to drown in their roles.
Is it worth the watch? I’d say yes if you like the movie and don’t have super high expectations. No, if you’re a die-hard fan and don’t want to see your favorite movie look a little less-than-appealing at times.
