The Making of the Tower of Terror

Monday Oct 30, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
This week in Disney News, Shanghai announced the date they’ll be opening Zootopia land.
Sticking with international parks, over in Tokyo Disneyland, Fantasy Springs will be opening on June 6, 2024.
On the high seas, we got some of our first looks at the artwork for the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure cruise ship, and it looks incredible.
And some people got a scare with the announcement of the return of the Disney Enchantment fireworks show at after hours events next year.
Tomorrow is Halloween, so today we wanted to discuss our favorite ride in Disney World that takes place on Halloween Day, 1939.
If you didn’t guess it, we’re talking about the Hollywood Studios icon: Tower of Terror.
This seemingly immortal ride hasn’t always been there, so we explain the history, fun facts, and nods to the Twilight Zone throughout the queue.
Plus, there were several iterations before the original was built including a murder mystery, which Angela thinks would be fun, but the night-vision goggles might become hazardous during the drops.
Check out the book A Magical Half-Century for even more on the Tower of Terror.

Name That Pixar Tune

Monday Oct 23, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
Our Disney “News,” this week is very…uneventful. Snow on the castle in Disneyland this week drove the internet crazy, but other than that Disney was pretty quiet.
Do you like Disney Music?
Do you like musical scores?
And unlike Scar, do you not “despise guessing games”?
Wonderful! Enjoy playing along to our new game Name that Tune: Pixar Edition. Joe plays Pixar movie scores for Angela who fumbles her way through guessing the movie, composer, and title of each track.
With the ability to earn up to 3 points per round, can you (and she) earn enough points to be crowned Grand Admiral? Should Angela earn some bonus points for the amazing new titles she comes up with? She thinks so!

You Can Only Keep One: Soundtrack Edition
Monday Oct 16, 2023
Monday Oct 16, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
This week in Disney news, ticket prices increased at Disneyland and so have Disney World season pass and parking prices. This all came with the good news that all day park hopping is returning to Disney World on January 9th!
Also, the Broadway-style show on Disney’s new ship, the Treasure, is Moana! Does this bode well for a full-on Broadway production!? We hope so!
This week, we ‘d like you to “Be Our Guest” as we play “You can only keep one” with 5 of your favorite Disney Renaissance movie soundtracks: Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Mulan, and Hercules. “I Won’t Say” any of the picks are easy, and for some, it’s like choosing between which foot you like better. You need both to walk…or swim? You’ll see what we mean. It was essential we remained “True to [Our Hearts]” and went “the Distance.” So friends, pull up a chair, as we proudly present…your podcast.

What’s Next for the Galactic Starcruiser?
Monday Oct 09, 2023
Monday Oct 09, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
This week in Disney News, Disney announced a discounted ticket for Disneyland and Disney World for children.
Also, Disney announced the narrators for the Candlelight Processional with big names like Neil Patrick Harris, John Stamos, and Simu Liu.
Disney has hinted that the Galactic Starcruiser Hotel may be closed, but something new is in the works.
This week, we discuss new avenues they may pursue with the venue.
So will people ever be able to stay there again possibly?
Will Disney mimic some of Universal's more recent additions and use the Starcruiser to host these added experiences?
Could it be used for a shorter experience or even a highly-themed show of some sort?
We share our thoughts, how we see the various options playing out, and the likelihood these things could actually occur.
Be sure to swing by our socials and let us know what you think may happen. While you're there, be sure to enter our contest to win cool prizes we picked up while on our last voyage.

Are WDW Deluxe Resorts Worth It?
Monday Oct 02, 2023
Monday Oct 02, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
Disney may have just changed how we all watch sports with a Toy Story simulcast of an NFL game this week. Too bad no one told us about it before it happened.
Have you ever wanted to go to Disney World, but struggled to pick an appropriate hotel for your visit?
Maybe you wanted to splurge for a Deluxe hotel, but also wanted to have money to spend elsewhere.
Maybe you questioned which hotels could get you to the parks the fastest.
As many Disney-goers know, Walt Disney World boasts an impressive number of hotels…sometimes too impressive. And there are three levels with their own price ranges. This week, we answer the age-old question “Is it worth staying in a Deluxe hotel?”
This week we discuss each level, price ranges, our thoughts on some of the specific hotels, and then try to help you narrow down the best ones for you and your family.
The answer to the “is it worth it” question is far more complex than many people would think considering the multitude of factors that should play into your decision. And surprisingly, the Deluxe hotels aren’t always the “best” choice, even if money isn’t a concern. Listen in and we can help you narrow your choices so you find the right hotel for you in the right price-range!

Greatest Attractions of All Time

Monday Sep 25, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
This past week, the big news was there was a bear in the Magic Kingdom causing Frontierland to be closed for hours. Of course the memes were lit as well, our favorite being the Haunted Mansion meme.
We’re happy to say the golden Disney World 50th Anniversary statues are staying!
Disney announced they plan to spend $60 billion dollars over the next 10 years in parks and on the Cruiselines. We’re a bit skeptical.
And Elemental’s debut on Disney+ was very successful, becoming one of their most watched Disney premieres on Disney+ of all time.
Disney has a number of iconic rides across their various properties. Rides that make you question how you could possibly convince the cast member to let you stay in the ride vehicle for your repeated riding pleasure.
This week, it’s those top-tier rides we’re going to discuss.
But we’re not just discussing those rides that were put in recently. No. We’re talking about the rides that stand out from the eras in which they were put in and in some cases, invented.
Which Disney rides have the staying power to be put in the hall of fame?
But don’t just take it from us, this week we rounded up an Avengers of sorts of Disney creators to give their picks as well!
A special thanks to our guests Clark(@mousemakerstudio), Julie from Double Your WDW Podcast (@doubleyourwdw), Becky from Disney in Your Day and Castle Dreams Travel (@disneyinyourday), and John and Bridget from Board Game Cantina(@boardgamecantina). Be sure to check them out!

Disney Bucket List
Monday Sep 18, 2023
Monday Sep 18, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
We start off with some great listener questions about our favorite Disney books and what the next ride to get turned into a movie might be.
Plus, we discuss the GORGEOUS update coming to the Disneyland Hotel in Paris.
Then in our main segment, we live like there’s no tomorrow and craft our Disney bucket list.
Disney has so many incredible experiences to offer from world adventures to Club 33 to the Cinderella Castle Suite, but which ones will make our list?
So while Angela’s off drinking everything Trader Sam has to offer and Joe’s manifesting a time machine, enjoy the show.

Monday Sep 11, 2023
Monday Sep 11, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
This week we got more information about the Disney Treasure.
Destination D23 was this past week and Disney said a lot without really announcing anything concrete. Also, what’s up with that Figment meet and greet?
Disney Cruise Lines, or at least Disney at sea, has been around for decades. Destination D23 Dream Announcements
Monday Sep 04, 2023
Monday Sep 04, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
The Journey of Water with Moana is getting closer to opening and we discuss the early reviews.
Plus, the Haunted Mansion over at Disneyland is going to be undergoing some changes in 2024.
This week, in response to two listener questions, we talk about our dream D23 announcements for the 4 Walt Disney World parks and also what a Disney Villains theme park would look like.
We have a blast blowing the doors off of the budgets and opening up the world of possibilities without Marvel ownership issues in parks, revamping the Avengers Campus, adding on to Galaxy's Edge, going a little wild in Animal Kingdom, and then allowing Maleficent to shine with her own castle.
What Disney could do with the villains is incredible. Letting these baddies have their own castle, parades, lands, rides (MAKE ESCAPE FROM ELEPHANT GRAVEYARD ALREADY DISNEY!), and eating establishments would add a fun richness to the parks.
Everyone has a little bit of the dark side in them, so embrace it with us this week and tune in!
Thank you so much Zac and Rich for the excellent questions! Keep them coming!

Planning Your First Trip to Disneyland
Monday Aug 28, 2023
Monday Aug 28, 2023
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney.
This week in Disney News, over in Tokyo DisneySea, we got more information on the Fantasy Springs expansion. With lots of new rides, eating establishments, and many beloved Disney properties, DisneySea is even more of a must-visit!
The Disney Treasure cruise ship announcements are coming soon! Members of the media got treasure maps last week revealing what might be included on the ship, and wow is it exciting!
When you're used to visiting Disney World, going over to Disneyland can feel a little bit like being a fish out of water.
This week, we discuss planning a Disneyland trip from a Disney Worlder's perspective.
What should you expect?
What kinds of tickets should you buy? For how many days?
Where should you stay?
What airport should you fly into?
What should you know about the nighttime shows? And is front row at World of Color a blessing or a curse?
We answer all of these and more!
